Benefits
of mining

The mining industry is rife with benefits for communities, including the social as well as economic spheres. When done the right way, mining creates local jobs that bring in resources to the town, city or county through the labor of local people. Mining can also create employment opportunities, enhance community wealth and, generally, promote great economic growth in developing nations, as this United Nations article, entitled "Mining to profit Africa's people" demonstrates.

Mining Advantages

Fossil fuels, among which coal is included, yield many advantages in terms of energy production. An ever-increasing number of extraction processes occur on a daily basis to draw out the oil and mine the coal that powers our factories, offices, restaurants and homes. Fossil fuels produce a large amount of energy and are very stable, making the reason for their widespread use throughout the last few centuries readily apparent. Coal, for instance, is abundantly available, especially in the United States, and costs comparatively little to process. Establishing refineries and other processing facilities is simple enough these days, and transportation techniques have been perfected over many decades. Even the by-products of refining fossil fuels are of great benefit: naphthalene, benzoyl, asphalt for roads, Vaseline and so on all rely on fossil fuel extraction and are ubiquitously used throughout the world.
